Solidarity Rally on World Refugee Day

On June 20, 2024, World Refugee Day, I had the honor of participating in a Solidarity Rally held in memory of those who lost their lives at sea last year. This rally carried a powerful message, emphasizing our support for the families of the victims and reminding everyone of the tragic realities faced by those seeking safety.

About the Solidarity Rally

The rally was held at a strategic location in the city center, drawing a large number of supporters and participants from various community groups. The atmosphere was charged with emotions and solidarity as we stood side by side to send a clear message to the world: we will not forget the victims and will continue to fight for their rights and the rights of all who face similar fates.

The Main Focus Opposing the Bezahlkarte (Payment Card)

A key focus of the event was a protest against the Bezahlkarte, a payment card that threatens individuals‘ rights and privacy. Several speeches were delivered to raise awareness about the dangers of this card and its negative impact on personal freedoms. We strongly reiterated our rejection of this card and called on everyone to join our campaign to oppose it.

My Speech on the Struggles in Hermsdorf and Jena

During the rally, I delivered a speech addressing the struggles that occurred in Hermsdorf. I highlighted the battles and sacrifices we have made to achieve justice and freedom for all, defending the rights of refugees. I also spoke about the continuous efforts we make to face the challenges that refugees encounter in Thüringia, and how these stands and gatherings strengthen the spirit of solidarity and remind us of the importance of unity in facing injustice.

Documentation and Media Coverage

Throughout the event, I took photos that captured the spirit of the rally and the message we all carry. A journalist covering the event documented significant moments, promising to send videos and photos soon. This documentation will help spread our message more widely and reach a larger audience.

At the end

The Solidarity Rally was a touching and meaningful experience, embodying the values of solidarity and the fight for human rights. We will continue our work and struggle to achieve justice and positive change in our society.
